Left Hand Technique Tip-- Clearly you want your fingers on both hands as close to the strings as possible. You certainly don’t want your fingers on the left hand flying all over the place. Try this practice tip -- keep at least two fingers touching a string (any string) at all times. While running scales, keep as many fingers in contact with the instrument as you possibly can until you get the idea. If you like to snap and pop (what my buddies call ‘spanking’ the bass), definitely give this a try. Spankers typically use horrendous LH technique!
