More about zippers -- Recall a past entry about maintaining your gig bag zipper with wax. Most likely lots of your gear utilizes zippers, and more likely (hopefully) they get a lot of use. If you don’t maintain them, they WILL fail, and it’s a bummer when they do! Out of necessity I recently repaired a zipper with the bottom of a candle. It worked great. There are all kinds of available products; Jacks Lube is a good one (we discussed a wax pen). So far, scraping a candle over the prongs of some old zippers has kept them smooth, tight, and problem free.
